ABOUT THE COMPANY

Hwy Haul is a silicon-valley-based technology company that is building a next-generation digital freight platform for fresh produce. It connects Shippers (Growers, Distributors, Wholesalers and Retailers) directly with reliable Truckers. This eliminates intermediary friction by introducing end-to-end digital applications and advanced temperature and humidity monitoring. Produce spends half its life in the supply chain and $15 billion is wasted or rejected in transit every year. Our vision is ambitious - to eliminate food wastage during transportation by collapsing the supply chain and improving conditions, such as refrigeration, while it is in transit. The Hwy Haul team is led by CEO Syed Aman, CTO Sharan Grewal and COO Zahed Khan - where Aman and Sharan built the online grocery platform for Walmart and helped scale it to a multi-billion dollar business, and Zahed owned various produce businesses as well as a trucking company in the past.

Public recognition in all-hands, issuing performance certificates, equity awards, spot bonuses, and promotion. Birthday recognition, reimbursement for fitness expenses, monthly free snack box, wellness program that engages associates to stay healthy, tuition recognition and awards for 1, 2 & 3 year awards, virtual and in-person team lunches and team bonding events.

How are you creating a workplace of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging?

We are proud of the diversity and inclusion culture in the company. We have a good mix of Americans, Asians, Europeans, Hispanic, US Army Veteran members in the team. In 2022 Hwy Haul expanded holidays to include Martin Luther King Day and a Floater Holiday. The purpose of the Floater Holiday is to support Associates from diverse backgrounds who have the opportunity to observe a Holiday of their choice. Hwy Haul recognizes the sacrifices made by parents by providing certain benefits for them. When an associate has a new baby, they are mailed a baby basket with essentials needed for the newborn. Also new mothers are allocated up to 2 months of partially paid maternity leave and all new parents are allocated 2 weeks of parental leave. All associates are required to complete the Dignity in the Workplace training, which educates on culture differences, bias in the workplace and best practices for inclusive communication.
